Chicco Body Lotion for Baby Review
I like this lotion. My baby has dry skin and this lotion has helped her to overcome it(atleast for few hours). This has a very nice fragrance but a bit stronger than MotherCare creams. This big bottle has a useful dispenser which allows you to close the nob as well and does not let the cream get spilled. Overall a good product.
My take: 9/10
Age: 0+
Cost: Higher (than pigeon or MeeMee)
Use: daily body lotion

Burp it up!!
All the parents and babies have an important task after
feeding: BURP. One has to make sure the baby burps right after the feed. It helps
the baby to sleep better and the baby also feels better/lighter. Parents need to help the baby in burping as she/he cant
sit uptil 5-6months. How to make sure the baby burps :-
- You as a Mother/Father should uphold the child such that the baby’s body is supported by you and the head can rest on your shoulder. In initial months your baby’s neck does not support her/his head so your hand(palm) should help her by holding the neck from behind but very delicately at the same time. The other hand should support the rest of the body. Baby burps quite quickly if you hold her properly.
- I strongly believe what you eat when you are exclusively breastfeeding does reflect in your milk and hence in baby's digestion. In fact the poops color also changes.Try eating spinach and checkout your LO's poop that day J it will change. So eat healthy and light food in the first month after delivery , it not only help you but also the baby to digest the milk. Avoid food like nuts, red and black beans etc.

Pigeon Feeding Bottle Review
Pigeon bottles are sleek and they are easy to handle and wash. Its very simply built and very handy while travelling as it doesn't take much space. One can get different size and cut in teats for suitable age group. It also has a small bump on the teat which help as anti-colic.
My take: 8/10
Availability : Good
Age: starts from 0+month
Use: For milk
Cost: Cheap (worth every penny)
Best part of this is it gets into a baby bag without taking much space and I can carry another toy(for my baby) instead of a fat bottle.
Happy mommying!

What to eat during pregnancy? - PartII
Ok so we are talking of you eating healthy for yourself and “not eating
for two”. Make sure you eat well and adding calories to your diet does not mean
eating junk. If you think for your unborn baby’s health I am sure you will eat
better and good food. Whatever you eat a part of it goes to your little one. So
please eat good and healthy food. BUT counting your calories and keeping a track
of #whatToEat” doesn’t mean you go on a diet or eat less than what you normally
eat. Eat healthy, good and enjoy it! :)
Protein: You need to eat loads of them and till
the 9month.Your body requires proteins in
good amount to help the foetus grow. So make sure that at least two of your
meals has proteins to give you right amount. If you are not much into proteins
then try some snacks rich in proteins like soya chunks, roasted black Bengal gram etc.
Food for proteins:-
Egg
Fish
Milk
Soya
Cottage cheese/Cheese
Carbs: The building block as one says or the
main source of energy for your body to function well. Eat healthy like Whole
wheat, Rice and avoid refined form (White flour/Maida). Never leave them, you
always need them and eat them well.
Folate: You have to take
folic acid as prenatal and post natal medicines.
DHA: This helps in baby’s brain and eye development. Its present
mostly in nuts, olive oil and one can take DHA fortified food as well.
Iron and Vitamin C: You need Iron
during and even after delivery till you are breast feeding the baby. The
sufficient amount of iron ensures your haemoglobin mark as per the requirement
as in ensures a healthy baby as well.
For
VitaminC Indian gooseberry or any tangy fruit(oranges/sweet lime) will suffice your vitamin requirement. It is one of the
important vitamin which helps you in absorption of iron and also improves your
immunity.
Food for Vitamin C:-
Grapefruit
Kiwi
Mango
Tomato
Lemon
Food for Iron:-
All green leafy vegetable.
Spinach
Dry Fruits
Beans and Peas
Calcium and Vitamin D: For baby to grow in
the right way with healthy bones one needs to have Calcium. If there is
insufficient amount of calcium intake, your baby draws it from his/her mothers
stored calcium. So one should take calcium tabs(especially for vegetarians)
during pregnancy and throughout your breast feeding time. For Calcium absorption
VitaminD is a must. So one can take Vit.D fortified Calcium tabs. Else Great
source of VitaminD is SUN.
Food
for calcium:-
Almonds
All
dairy products(Milk, buttermilk, yogurt, cheese)
Tofu
Water: Fluids are important part of pregnancy. And most important
of all is water. Even if you cant control or need to go to loo on the middle of
the night one needs to drink water/ Coconut water to stay hydrated and to prevent
constipation which a lot of ladies face during pregnancy.
P.S. :- Make sure your weight
should not increase more than 11-12 kg till ninth month(full term) and consult a doctor if there is a sudden
increase in weight. Please DON'T DIET
Happy mommying!!

Chicco Insulated Cup Review
This is a sipper with a well built mechanism for opening and as well as for the liquid suction. It opens quite smoothly and infact my daughter(at 1.5yrs) loved opening and drinking water on her own from it. The flow of the liquid can be regulated by a small band inside the cup, it helps moms to keep a check on the amount of water her baby is going to suck. As in the flow of the liquid can be increased by removing the band or decreased by placing the band on the hole.
Its an insulated cup but don't expect it to keep the hot water like a thermos.
It comes in two nice and bright colors. The only drawback is that it sometimes leak if the pieces inside the cup are not fitted well.
My take: 8/10
Age: If your baby can suck from the sipper(while sitting)
Cost: Higher
Use: mainly for water

Chicco Natural Feeding Bottle
I like this bottle, from teat to bottle size everything is good. The teat is super soft and the big enough to make the baby feel that she is sucking the natural way. Bottle width / circumference is good and thus the baby can hold the bottle as well. The one of the drawback I faced was the print of the milk volume on the bottle. It gets easily brushed off while washing the bottle, so everytime I wash i make sure not to use bottle brush to clean the outer surface. Else its a great product.
My take: 8/10
Availability: Good
Cost: Higher
Age: Starts from 0m+
One needs to close the bottle cap properly(teat should be vertical) else it might leak if the bottle is tilted.

Food for baby after 6months
Yes finally you will be free from breastfeeding the baby everytime she/he is hungry as your doc will allow you to start you LO's food( mainly purees and liquids to start with). But then dear mom thinking about what to give to your child or cook for your child is the one of the BIG task. Yes you will have to cook sometime too and initially your Lo might not even like the taste...but that doesnt stop you from cooking with LOOOVE for your baby and experiment. So enjoy it and if the baby does not like it give that food a break and try again after 2 weeks or so.
Baby's requirement after 6m+
1. Iron
2. Vitamin C
3. Vitamin D
These three are not present in your breast milk or any formula milk(unless fortified). So its recommended to start one food at a time for the baby to include anyone of these three vit.
Things to be given as a puree(in soup or juice form)
PS: Anything new you introduce to the baby's diet , make sure you give that food to the baby for 5-6days before starting another new food . As the baby's delicate stomach needs to handle a foreign/new food give it sometime to understand and digest(getting used to it) before starting anything new.

MeeMee Bottle Review
This bottle is one of the most ergonomically(practical) made for the babies. It has a handle which generally babies like to hold and a straw with heavy ball which hold its down or up(if the bottle is tilted). My baby loved it once she started sucking from the bottle. This bottle is meant for babies 6month+ as by then baby knows how to sit own her own and drink the fluid from the bottle. My kiddo loves to drink soup or juice from this.
My take: 8/10
Cost: Economic
Age: 6months+
Use: for juice and soups
Availability: not available in most of the shops

MotherCare Baby lotion
I love #MotherCare, all its
products…almost all. I have tried very few creams/baby lotion for my baby. I have
come to one conclusion that is, this one is not for the babies who have dry
skin. I loved the fragrance but it just doesn’t moisturises the dry skin (especially legs which are mostly exposed as my daughter wear frocks).
My take: 8/10
Skin type: Normal to Oily (not for
dry skin)
Fragrance: Very mild and best for
the baby
Availability: Good
Its perfectly safe for the baby :)

BreastMilk- My way to make it meaningful
I guess what really increases the milk supply other
than the food like wheat and cumin is your baby's demand. The more your baby sucks the more
your body produces milk.
But one thing I am sure of is that your food(eating habits
after delivery) does affect the baby in being colic, non colic and full stomach.
To make your milk more meaningful for the baby(I mean to
include nutrition)try my recipe I drank this every night till I breastfed my lil one.
-> Heat the milk and add two teaspoon of semolina and sugar
according to your taste. Bring it to boil. Drink it (as per your taste or
liking be it hot or cold) every night and see your baby will sleep better for a
longer time as the baby’s stomach is full
Full tummy = sleepy and happy baby :)
Try this!! If it works for you do tell me/comment on this
page.

Breastfeeding/ Breast milk
Things you need to know about breast feeding:-
The very first time a very few mothers are able to
breastfeed the baby as the mother does not know how to handle the baby and the
baby does not know how to latch up properly. Its OK. Slowly by second or third
time baby does get to know and mother also starts producing milk after the
repeated suction. The first few supplies of milk is watery or yellow in color, is
called Colostrum. It is the most important thing your child needs once they are
born. It is full of nutrition and consists of everything your baby needs to
fight the basic human diseases. TRY to make sure your baby is given your milk
first rather than a formula milk until unless you are not able to produce milk if no then relax and enjoy with your baby.
- The more you feed your baby the more milk supply will be produced by your body
- A lot of times baby feeding pattern changes, so if your baby is not drinking you might feel your breast getting heavy and hardened. Don’t worry! You should massage your breast (clockwise or anticlockwise) to reduce lumps/heaviness in milk filled breast. This happens only when the milk supply is more and demand is less.
- Expressed Breast Milk (EBM) – means you take out milk manually or with the help of a machine. You can express milk which can be given to the baby immediately or later(yes it can stored too).
- Yes! Your eating does affect the baby, proof is the baby’s poop. Eg. Have any green vegetable like spinach and the very day or next day your lil one will poop green (you can smile if you have seen one). So do not eat very heavy/ gassy food in the first three months.
- You do not need to drink milk to increase your milk supply. Certain food does increase the milk supply like Fenugreek, cumins, oats or porridge etc.
Happy Mommying!

To cut nails of a new born
In the first three months nails of a baby are very very soft so it can be broken very gently with your finger tip.Right after you give your baby a bath try to cut nails as they are very soft due to water. Or you can use baby nails cutting scissors. Or let the mother nature work its way, they will break on its own but they tend to be sharp from the edges.
Initially I was afraid to cut my baby's soft and (oh sooo) tiny nails but my sister scolded me "if you as a mother cant do it then who else will do". Ok so that did make me cut her nails.
I used Farlin Baby scissors.
My Take:-9/10
It has a big enough lower part for easy handling. Tiny scissors blade appropriate for the baby nail size. It really helped me to overcome my nail cutting fear.
BEST TIME to cut nails are when the baby is sleeping.
happy Mommying!!
